Ethan Brown, one of Sunderland's finest Karate champions took off his black belt today in order to take his practical driving test in Sunderland.
After years of training and competing, Ethan has successfully won 4 Bronze medals in the European Championships, as well as a Bronze medal in the World Championships.
However, over the past few months, and after recently returning home from a family holiday to Japan only last week, Ethan stepped out of his comfort zone and buckled up, ready to take on his next challenge of obtaining his full UK driving license.
His instructor; Chris, managed to secure an earlier test date for him - on his 23rd birthday of all days! When Chris arrived to pick him up, Ethan was very nervous to say the least, and Chris realised that his nerves were definitely outshining his birthday excitement.
After a quick drive around Sunderland, Ethan pulled back into the test centre car park, to find out the fantastic news that he had passed his driving tests, without a single driving fault. The examiner explained that it had been a lovely and enjoyable drive, and after wishing him happy birthday, she passed him his key to freedom - his pass certificate!

Mam Andrea, and Dad Simon couldn't be more proud of Ethan, his hard work, determination and discipline have been nothing short of inspiring and the results speak for themselves!
What better birthday present could anyone ask for!
Well done and a huge congratulations Ethan, you deserve this result so much! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
